About Vasilios (Bill) Moutzouros, MD
Dr. Moutzouros was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Loyola University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 3 years with a degree in Biology. He then went on to Loyola-Stritch School of Medicine where he graduated with Honors and AOA recognition. His Orthopaedic training was in Boston at the Tufts/New England Baptist Hospital Program. From there he did the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine Fellowship covering the Cleveland Cavaliers, Indians, and Browns.
He moved to Henry Ford Health System in 2007. He served as the residency program director overseeing the training of 30 residents from 2012-2017. Dr. Moutzouros is a leader in sports medicine. He is currently the Head Team Physician for the NBA Detroit Pistons. He is also the Head Team Physician for Wayne State University, as well as Detroit Country Day and West Bloomfield High Schools. He served as Team Orthopaedic Surgeon for the NFL Detroit Lions for 8 years. Dr. Moutzouros’ education and vast experiences are why he is so respected and sought after for surgical opinions from all athletes. His direct and honest approach puts his patients at ease during difficult times. Overall, his reputation has come from great care and surgical outcomes for all the patients he treats.
